Laptops, tablets, and smart devices all have batteries. These batteries lose charge and wear out over time. Technology changes (Ni-Cd, NiMH, Li-ion) and so they do get better but good practice should still be instituted. To maintain longer battery life (not charge), make sure, on occasion, you run your device from full power all the way until it is basically ’empty’…then charge it up again. It is bad practice to leave a laptop/device plugged in all the time because over time, the charge capacity gets smaller (battery memory). As mentioned, battery memory still occurs in even the newest battery types, but remember to let the battery drain to extend the useful life of it.
