A 36 year old Cotuit man has been charged with the murder of his wife.
Early Tuesday morning, 36 year old Mary (Molly) Fratantonio was found dead at the Trout Brook Road home she shared with her husband. Molly was a special education teacher at Barnstable High School.
Police were called to 89 Trout Brook Road at about 1:50 Tuesday morning after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a violent crime.
Police arrived at the home at 1:50 AM to find a deceased woman, later identified as 35 year old Mary J. Fratantonio.
Christopher S. Fratantonio was arrested and charged with the murder of his wife. He was arraigned today in Barnstable District Court.
Barnstable Superintendent of Schools Meg Mayo-Brown issued a statement today upon learning of Molly’s death:
“It is with great sorrow that the Barnstable Public Schools has learned that Mary (Molly) Fratantonio, a special education teacher at Barnstable High School, died last night. We are deeply saddened by this loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Molly’s family, friends, and loved ones. Molly was a recent addition to the high school staff, starting in September as a special education teacher. Staff and students are deeply saddened by her death. The crisis team will be providing support services to any adult or student that is in need.”
Barnstable High School principal Patrick Clark says that an alert was issued to parents. School counselors, adjustment counselors, and school psychologists are available for all students and staff.
