Cape Media News

Cape Media News is an award-winning hyperlocal television news broadcast focusing on the issues of importance to Cape Cod.
Launched in April 2017, Cape Media News has covered hundreds of local stories on housing, the economy, water quality, local politics, the opioid crisis, education, environmental issues, community events, public safety, quality of life, and so much more.
Our reporters are Cape Codders who have a deep love for the region and a commitment to providing honest, educational, informative news to our residents.
News Director Sarah Colvin has been reporting news on Cape Cod since 2005, and she’s a born-and-raised Cape Codder. She shares a curiosity and enthusiasm for local people, places, and things.
We hope that the hundreds of thousands of visitors that come to Cape Cod find value in our newscasts, and take us back home to stay connected to the region.
In January 2019, Cape Media News won a first-place Mass Access Creator Award for our Community Impact series, in which we rode along with Barnstable police officers to hear first-hand the challenges and issues our officers face.

Our new Pop-Up Newsroom offers live coverage from local events using Facebook Live.
We’ve had a lot of fun this year (click names to watch videos!) We’ve broadcast from the Hyannis Rotary Home & Garden Show, CCYP Shape Your Cape Summit, Current Quarterly Shop & Show to Benefit We Can, EarthTech Expo, and CCWA Open House & Expo. Our Pop-Up Newsroom is a way to showcase local events & happenings here on Cape Cod, and to connect instantly with a large audience.
Coming up, you can catch us at the Mid-Cape Tourism Summit, the 25th Annual Greater Hyannis Father’s Day Car Show, and the Hyannis Main Street Long Table event. Curious about the concept? Email Sarah at sarah@capemedia.org for details.

You can watch new episodes of Cape Media News every Friday at 5:30 PM on Cape Media Channel 99 and CapeSpan 98. Check out full episodes and segments below!
