Cape Tech Evacuated: Police Say No Credible Threat

Cape Cod Regional Technical High School was evacuated this morning following a threat made on one of the school’s buses.

The Harwich Police Department was called at 6:45 this morning. A bus company official told police that there as talk on one of the buses of an imminent threat at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich.

Harwich police responded to the school immediately and contacted school officials.  The building was evacuated and swept by Harwich police personnel. Arriving students and buses were diverted to staging areas away from school grounds while the building was being cleared.

Harwich police spoke with the driver and students on the bus in question. It was determined that no credible threat existed. Students and staff were allowed to enter the building at 8:15 AM and begin the school day.

Harwich police were assisted on-scene by members of the Harwich Fire Department and Brewster Police Department.
