Diana Jennings: In Progress

A native Cape Codder, Diana Jennings holds a PhD in

neuroscience and works in higher education.

Previously a sporadic painter, she recently began

producing art with vigor. Her influences include

Rothko, O’Keeffe, Van Gogh, Klimt, and modern

Japanese artist Hirohito Matsumoto.

Diana’s work is that of a learner. When we learn to

speak, we emulate those around us. When we learn to

write, we study the words and craft of those writers

we love. So it is with painting. Diana says, “Art is a

language; colors and shapes are to painting as words

are to writing. I learn this language by studying the

artists I love. ”

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that

I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words

for.” Georgia O’Keefe

“Painting is just as natural a language as singing or

speaking.” Mark Rothko

Diana believes that if a small voice says to paint, one

should heed that voice. “Just paint for your own

pleasure, and through that practice, that play, your

artistic voice will emerge and begin to speak to

Meet Diana at her open house, Monday December 2,

We will be Closed for Christmas and New Years, and have limited hours during that week. Please give us a call before heading down.

Basic Color Match:

Ever hear of Color Matching? When using multiple cameras, to keep post production easier, you need to white balance each camera before shooting. This will help ensure the color in each video match correctly so when you cut between cameras, your whites will be white and your colors will be equal hues. This technique is a form of color correction best avoided in the post-studio if possible. You will have more time to work on other areas of your production!
