Dennis Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

A Dennis man is facing multiple drug charges including possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

On Monday, March 12, 2018 at 1:00 in the afternoon Yarmouth and Dennis police executed a search warrant at 377 Sesuit Neck Road in East Dennis.  The search warrant was obtained based on probable cause developed during an investigation into the distribution of cocaine by the suspect, George Smith.

Yarmouth Police Department lead investigator Detective Scott Lundegren, along with Detective Sergeant Kalil Boghdan, Detective Christopher VanNess, PAC Unit K9 Officer Nick Ambrosini and Detectives from the Dennis Police Department executed the search warrant, which authorized officers to search for Cocaine, a Class B controlled substance and evidence related to the distribution of Cocaine, and authorized the search of George Smith and any persons present in the location to be searched.

Upon arrival, police encountered Smith, who told officers he had cocaine in the back seat of his car hidden in the bottom of an insulated water tumbler. Police seized three bags of cocaine and a small tinfoil packet containing LSD. In total, police seized 6.1 grams of cocaine, a small strip of blotter paper (LSD), a digital scale, baggies, and other paraphernalia.

Smith was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of LSD with intent to distribute. Smith was scheduled for arraignment today (Monday, March 19) in Barnstable District Court.
