Just as the start of summer brings a fresh crop of college interns to the Media Center, the end of summer brings tearful goodbyes. This season, we were incredibly lucky to host a talented, all-female team of rockstar interns: Miranda Trieble, a rising junior studying Communication at Curry College; Milostina Krusteva, a rising senior studying Journalism & Mass Communication and Business Administration at the American University in Bulgaria; and Taylor Giangregorio, a rising senior studying Journalism and PR at Quinnipiac University.

This summer was packed for the interns, who helped produce more than 15 videos! They covered Relay for Life; hosted Profile and What’s Happening shows in the studio; created video newsletters for the Dennis Senior Center; produced a new series of shorts called Guess the Destination; and even created their own show! (Did we mention they all worked at least one other job all summer too??)

Here’s a quick recap of the interns’ experience:

Miranda:

“My internship at the Cape Cod Community Media Center has exceeded my expectations. Everyone was so kind, encouraging and helpful, especially my supervisors Kate and Izzi. The other interns and I were always busy filming in and out of the studio. My favorite part of the experience was being so hands-on with everything we produced. I always left everyday feeling accomplished in some way. To everyone at the Cape Cod Community Media Center, thank you so much for such a fantastic summer!!!”

Taylor:

“My experience this past summer as an intern has been incredibly rewarding. I was given the proper tools and guidance to create and edit content for the Media Center. Along with the two other interns, we were able to film interviews in the studio and out in the field. I gained experience in camera work, editing, and studio production. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and I will take the experiences that I have gained from the Media Center and be able to use my broader sense of knowledge about the broadcast industry in my work at school and in future careers. It has been such a fulfilling summer to be able to work with people who are as passionate and determined to produce quality content for the local community.”

Milostina:

“This summer I put my classroom knowledge into practice with Cape Cod Community Media Center. Professional environment, creative projects, cultural experience… Hosting on-stage TV shows built my confidence and expanded my social network. Learning how to use the audio equipment and furthering my knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite was a great opportunity. Working within deadlines, schedules, and on-sight shoots has made me competitive for a job after graduation.”

We wish the interns all the best this year, and can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the future.
