Local Musician Schuyler Grant to Release New Album

When Schuyler Grant was three years old, he asked for a guitar for Christmas. When Santa didn’t deliver, he began playing air guitar using anything he could find. And when his parents noticed it wasn’t just a passing phase, he got his wish. He hasn’t stopped playing since.

Grant grew up in Southern California, spending summers here on Cape Cod. As he grew older, the vacations grew from two weeks to three, then to a month, and eventually all year-round. After going away to school at Tulane in New Orleans, and a short stint in New York, Grant has come back to Cape Cod to live and work, and make music.

In May 2016 he released his first studio album, “Moving On”, working with Grammy-nominated producer Jon Evans, who has worked with artists like Tori Amos, Chris Cornell, and Sarah McLachlan. He’s preparing for the launch of his second album, “Until the Last Light Fades”, also produced by Evans. Grant’s latest album pays homage to the artists that inspired him in his youth: Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin. It’s a bit harder, more blues-driven, than the softer sound of “Moving On”.
Grant joined us in our Media Center studios this week for an interview and a sneak preview of the new album. He’s holding a record release party on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the 19th Hole Tavern on Main Street in Hyannis. The show is free and the music starts at 9pm.
Check out Schuyler Grant performing “Amy” at the Media Center studios, and we’ll see you at the record release party.
