Media Center Producers Nominated for 5 Emmys

Quahog Entertainment earned three Boston-New England Emmy® nominations yesterday from the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).  Quahog Entertainment co-founders, John Sullivan and Andrew Rapo, were recognized for their work on their new Children’s show, Quahog Corner.  They were also recognized for their work on Massachusetts’ Plant Something campaign ( for which they contributed an original song and companion video.

The 36th Boston/New England Emmy® Awards will be presented on Saturday, June 1 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

The Academy grants the Emmy® Award, the most prestigious, peer-judged honor in television for exemplary creative achievement.

Quahog Corner will be distributed as an App for iPad and Android tablets.  This App-Show™ will feature full length video episodes of the Quahog Corner show, original songs, music videos, drawing lessons and activities, interactive storybooks, and games featuring the show’s characters.

Quahog Entertainment  – In April 2013, Sullivan and Rapo formed Quahog Entertainment LLC to develop the Quahog Corner show which is being produced at the Cape Cod Community Media Center in Dennisport, MA.  In May, Quahog Entertainment expects to launch its first Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to produce the Quahog Corner show.

John Sullivan is a long-time Cape Cod resident.  He he was an art teacher at Barnstable High School for thirty-three years and he was the director of the award-winning Barnstable High School Drama Club.  Sullivan has a masters degree in teaching from Massachusetts College of Art and studied a the California Institute for the Arts (Cal Arts).  While in California he worked on the Turner Pictures animated feature, The Pagemaster.

Sullivan is the featured artist at the Cape Cod Community Media Center for the Month of May.  His extensive collection of original illustrations will be showcased at a reception at the media center on Monday, May 6 from 5-7pm.  The public is welcome and invited to attend.  Light refreshments will be served.

Andrew Rapo is also a long-time Cape Cod resident.  He began composing original music as a student at Sullivan’s Barnstable Summer Family Theater.  Rapo spent many years developing games and interactive content at Disney Online Studios in Los Angeles.  He was Executive Producer of The World of Cars Online, a game for kids based on the Pixar movie.  On returning to New England in 2010, Rapo joined Hasbro’s Digital Marketing team as Vice President of Product Management & Platform Operations.
