James is heading overseas for a few months, but he’s been a staple of the Media Center this year since joining in August of 2017. Born in England, James spent much of his childhood in Kenya before joining the army and traveling the world. He came to the Cape on an expedition in 2010 and has been here ever since. James currently resides in West Yarmouth.

What made you want to join the Media Center?

“I’d been tinkering with some documentary projects and needed to find out how to make it happen. When I came to the Media Center, they made me feel welcome.”

What projects are you producing?

“The first project I’ve been working on is a documentary inspired by Scargo Pottery. I went there with my family, and it really looks like something out of a fairy tale. I’m also working on a documentary about the herring run at Brewster.”

What does the Media Center mean to you?

“It gives people like me the opportunity to show other people what goes on in Cape Cod. And, if people like me can produce something that’s of interest to other people, it may inspire them to do it too.

I’ve been learning as I go, and I’ve made every mistake under the sun. But I am eternally grateful for the support and guidance from the long suffering staff at the Media Center.”
