Tim Kelley, meteorologist with New England Cable News and Dennis native, will lead this year’s Cape Cod St. Patrick’s Parade as the Grand Marshal.  The 13th annual St. Pat’s parade takes place on Saturday, March 10 at 11 AM on Route 28 in Yarmouth.

Dozens of marching bands and pipe and drum units from on and off Cape will anchor the festivities, along with floats, Irish Step Dancers, Clydesdales, antique cars and family friendly entertainment.  Among the nearly dozen musical units are the Brian Boru Pipe Band, The Highland Light Scottish Pipes, The Irish American Police Officers Association Pipe Band, the Dennis Yarmouth High School Band and for the first time, The Mass Maritime Regimental Field Band.

The route begins at Bass River Sports World at the intersection of Long Pond Drive and Route 28 in South Yarmouth and follows Route 28 west over the Parker’s River Bridge, ending at the Town ’n Country Motel.

Kelley has been a meteorologist with NECN since the station’s launch in 1992. He began his career at WMUR-TV in New Hampshire, then spent three years as a meteorologist and environmental reporter at WLNE-TV in Providence. A Cape native, Kelley grew up in a family of hard working fishermen and builders. According to his bio, he found a way to make a living as a landlubber because he doesn’t like getting stuck out at sea.  He’s an avid outdoorsman, however, and sites gardening, surfing, and skiing as his favorite hobbies.
