PSA DAY: Wednesday, November 28th, 2018, 9 – 5 PM

Are you a non-profit organization or community service provider that needs media support to promote your organization? If you serve the communities of Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwich, or Chatham, the Media Center can help. As a community service, the staff at the Media Center will work with you to produce a 30-second or 1-minute PSA (Public Service Announcement) free of charge.  All of the public service announcements recorded on this day will be shown on the Media Center’s Public Access Channel (Comcast Channel 99.) PSAs can also be uploaded to YouTube and social media.

This time, we’re doing things a little differently. To help you create a highly effective PSA, we are holding PSA Training on Wednesday, November 14th from 3 to 5 PM. In order to participate in PSA Day, a spokesperson from your organization must attend PSA Training.  Training will include one-on-one assistance in scripting; instruction on compiling and submitting B-roll video, images, and logos; and selection of a time slot for PSA Day itself.

How It Works

  • Choose a spokesperson from your organization who will be appearing on-camera or in a voiceover.  Your spokesperson must be able to attend PSA Training and PSA Day.
  • Email kate@capemedia.org with the subject line “PSA Day” to register. In your email, please include the name of your organization and your organization’s mission.
  • Slots are limited to 8 organizations, so act fast! Registrations will be accepted until November 7th.
  • Attend PSA Training on November 14th.
  • Submit any B-roll, images, and graphics prior to, or the day of, PSA Day.
  • Attend PSA Day on November 28th. Each organization will have a 45-minute slot for recording their PSA. (We’ll take care of all the technical stuff).
  • In a couple of weeks, your PSA will be edited and ready for broadcast.
