Quahog Entertainment receives two Boston/New England Emmy Nominations

Creative duo, John Sullivan and Andrew Rapo, have received 5 Boston/New England Emmy Nominations in the last two years

Cape Cod, MA – Quahog Entertainment earned two Boston-New England Emmy® nominations yesterday from the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). Quahog Entertainment co-founders, John Sullivan and Andrew Rapo, were recognized for their work on their new Children’s show, Quahog Corner. The show’s opening sequence music video was released on YouTube last April (2013) and has now been nominated for a Boston/New England Emmy Award in the Graphic Arts Program category.

The 37th Boston/New England Emmy® Awards will be presented on Saturday, June 7 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place at which time Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy will receive the Governors’ Award.

Andrew Rapo also received a nomination for his Doug The Quahog Theme Song, an original song written for the main character of Cape Cod’s annual Quahog Day – presented by The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce:

Quahog Corner is an innovative children’s App-Show™ being developed specifically for iPad and Android tablets and mobile devices. The show will feature expert drawing lessons for kids (and adults) stories, music videos and games. Sullivan and Rapo have spent the last two years developing the app and producing the video content, which can be previewed at QuahogCorner.com (via YouTube). The full App-Show is expected to debut in time for Summer 2014.

Quahog Entertainment – In April 2013, Sullivan and Rapo formed Quahog Entertainment LLC to develop the Quahog Corner show which is being produced at the Cape Cod Community Media Center in Dennisport, MA.

John Sullivan is a long-time Cape Cod resident. He was an art teacher at Barnstable High School for thirty-three years and he was the director of the award-winning Barnstable High School Drama Club. Sullivan has a masters degree in teaching from Massachusetts College of Art and studied at the California Institute for the Arts (Cal Arts). While in California he worked on the Turner Pictures animated feature, The Pagemaster.

Andrew Rapo is a long-time Cape Cod resident. He began composing original music as a student at Sullivan’s Barnstable Summer Family Theater on Cape Cod. Andrew spent many years developing games and interactive content at Disney Online Studios in Los Angeles. He was nominated for a Technical Emmy® in 2007 for his work on Disney’s innovative DXD Web site. He was Executive Producer of The World of Cars Online, a game for kids based on the Pixar movie. He also worked closely with the founders of Club Penguin.
