This day long workshop will cover a typical sound reinforcement situation for a 3-10 piece band at a small to medium sized (50-500) seat venue. All concepts and practices will relate to larger venue (500-2500 seat) situations as well, however the equipment choices and needs maybe be slightly different. The workshop will cover topics microphone choices and placement, stage monitors, IEM (In ear monitors), cable choices and management, monitor mixing (mixing for the band), front of house mixing (FOH; mixing for the audience), console choices and parameters, digital snakes, and more! This workshop will run 10am-5pm and include lunch.
The workshop is being presented by staff member/audio pro Jay Sheehan. Jay has been providing sound services for nearly 20 years in various capacities including music recording, mastering and mixing, sound for film and television, as well as, live sound. He will lead you through a full day of hands on instruction, plus, the opportunity to volunteer on a live show this same evening!
