Cape Cod Police Departments Team Up With Taxis To Provide Safe New Year’s’ Eve Transportation
We all know that overindulgence can happen during the holiday season, especially on New Year’s Eve. It is never a good idea to get behind the wheel of a car if you’ve had too much to drink – you could get arrested, lose your license, or even lose your life.
Several Cape Cod police departments are teaming up with local taxi providers for Operation Safe Ride to offer free and sober rides home on New Year’s Eve.
The goal of the program is to limit impaired drivers on our roadways and to work in partnership to keep our communities safe.
Operation Safe Ride on the Lower Cape begins at 10:00 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2016 and ends at 4:00 AM on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
Anyone who needs a safe and sober ride home on New Year’s Eve from a licensed liquor establishment to a residence in the towns of Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Eastham, and Orleans can contact the taxi providers listed below.
